We decided to take a quick trip up to Seattle for the 4th of July weekend. As luck would have it, the weather was perfect! We were only gone for 4 days, but it felt like a week! The weather was perfect until the last day when we were departing. The weather was amazing so we did a little gardening, which seems to happen every weekend now. The good thing about it is that our garden is growing like mad and the backyard is looking very inviting. The bad thing is, well, not much to complain about actually. <br /><br /> Anyhow, just wanted to wish everyone a great and fast week. My parents came down and helped us. I'm pretty proud of it. Granted there a little things off but I think it gives it personality! :) We have to wait a few months before we stain it espresso. <br /><br />Other than that, the weekend was good. Matt did a 10k and beat his personal record! He did a great job. We also saw a few of our nieces, they came over and spent the night. This past week, we've cleaned it up more and moved some of the rocks and sticks around and even added some solar lights. Looks very clean and nice. OH, and yesterday morning, we noticed we had corn, cucumber, and lettuce seedlings. We touched down last night and it rained cats and dogs for a few hours. Already eating some great cuban food and getting ready to just relax the rest of the afternoon. While the idea of going to South America is still ever present, Costa Rica and the surrounding areas was a trip we knew we had to do in the next 20+ months. To my surprise, I found tickets to Costa Rica for 300$ including taxes. Shocked and elated, I phoned the hubby and told him the good news and convinced him that work would be slow during this time and to take an extra day off. And so, another trip was born. Because of that we had to get rid of our old couches and replace them. New ones came on Saturday but as Goldie Lox would say, it's just too big! On Sunday we went back and ordered new ones to exchange the giant sized ones we just got. Today we got the new ones and they fit just right! Today we finally made our way to Museum of Natural History and had probably one of the best meals in a long time at the legendary Delmonico's. I trekked down the Social Security office and made it official... I changed my last name. :) <br /><br />I took the receipt and put it in a little box had it ready under the tree. Late in the evening I couldn't stand it and gave it to him! He knew I was going to do it but he was still surprised and happy! <br /><br />At the moment, we are taking our time to get ready for one of Matt's colleague's wedding. It's always fun to have people over, especially family! We got a chance to tell them all about our trip and show them photos. The food was quite good (take out from a local restaurant) and the birthday cake was great! It was a great Friday night! <br /><br /> Tonight we have some close friends coming over dinner. I know it will be filled with good food, good wine, good times!
